ACCOMNODATION

-Homestay at local Dzay family near Sapa

Night 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai 

Make your own way from your hotel to Hanoi railways station. Take the overnight train to Lao Cai. Spend your night in a 4-berth A/C cabin, soft sleeper.

Day 1: Lao Cai – Sapa – Cat Cat - Y Linh Ho & Ta Van Villages – Homestay (B/L/D)

-Arrive at Lao Cai railways station at about 6.30AM and take a drive uphill to the mountainous town of Sapa where the monotony of the expansive green landscape is enlivened by the colours of its hill tribes. -Departure at 08.30 to 09.00 am. walk from Sapa downhill along a narrow trail for an hour through fruit gardens and vegetable farms to the southern end of Cat Cat Village(from 1,486m to 1,288m). Then follow the steps down to Mung Hoa river, enjoy a short rest near Cat Cat waterfall(1,212m). Walk up the steps again and trek along the Vang Stream for another hour softly downhill from 1,212m to 1,188m. Cross the Vang stream to other bank and then lunch break.
-After lunch, the trail winds up steep hills to 1,227m for two hours through rice paddies, corn fields and later rain forest before gradually descending for another 2 hours to wards Y Linh Ho village(at 1,018m), another village of the Black Hmong with lot traces of slash and burn agriculture along the way. Transfer to Ta Van village for overnight.

Night 2: Overnight in a local house with a Dzay family

-Trekking distance: 10km – 6 to 7 hours ~ Mix of single track, dirty trail and tarmac road
-Level: Moderate
-Car support: 8km/Drop off at Cat Cat and pick up at Y Linh Ho and transfer to Ta Van.

Day 2: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai Village - Sapa – Lao Cai – Hanoi (B/L)

-Wake up with the locals in the sounds of cocks, pigs and the family dogs. After breakfast with the family, say good bye to the host take another light trek though bamboo forests to Giang Ta Chai Village- home of Red Dzao and H’mong peoples. Explore this quiet village for half an hour, then following the trail to the bottom of the valley, crossing the Muong Hoa River again to other bban. Walk ends up as reaching to the motor way at about 04.00pm, picked up for 18km road transfer back to Sapa.
-Dinner on your own before boarding the night train back to Hanoi.

Night 3: Overnight on a 4-berth A/C cabin, soft sleeper on the train back to Hanoi.

-Trekking distance: 12km – 6 to 7 hours ~ Steep and dirty trails
-Level: Moderate
-Car support: 12km/Pick up at Giang Ta Chai

Day 3: Hanoi 

Arrival in Hanoi in the early morning. Tour ends.
